Arthur Bragança is a Senior Economist at the World Bank’s Environment, Natural Resources, and Blue Economy Global Practice. He received a BSc. in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), a Ph.D. in Economics at PUC-Rio (Brazil), and was a visiting scholar at Harvard University (USA). Before joining the World Bank, he worked as Head of Policy Evaluation at the Climate Policy Initiative, where he led evaluations of the socio-environmental impacts of environmental, agricultural, and development policies in Brazil. His main interests lie in environmental conservation, sustainable agriculture, climate-smart infrastructure, and evaluation of public policies. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Journal of Public Economics, and Land Economics.
